Ryan Moon was brought back into the Arrows line-up to partner Knox Mutizwa in the attack as the KwaZulu-Natal side looked to end a run of two successive defeats.
The visitors looked to get on the scoreboard early on, as the likes of Pule Mmodi and Andile Fikizolo unleashed efforts in the opening 15 minutes, although Gallants did force a save out of Nkosingiphile Gumede.Both sides failed to score in their opening two games of the new campaign and that looked like continuing as the first half lacked any serious goal-mouth action.
That all changed in the second half when Gallants opened the scoring on 56 minutes, with Celimpilo Ngema getting his and the team's first goal for the 2022/2023 campaign.
