Stellies coach Steve Barker made one change to his starting lineup with Ashley du Preez dropping out for Antonio van Wyk. Chippa coach Kurt Lentjies also made just one change with Siphelele Luthuli replacing Andile Mbenyane.
With 20 minutes gone, Stellies won a corner and it was a good delivery, however, Juan Ortiz could only head wide when he should have at least hit the target. Stephens pulled off a world-class save to deny Bienvenu Eva Nga giving the Chilli Boys the lead when his scorcher of an effort from the left-hand side of the box to the far corner was somehow repelled by the Stellies shot-stopper.
