Chiefs were extremely active in the transfer market in the off-season from appointing Arthur Zwane as head coach to giving no less than 12 players the chop on the back of last season’s fifth place finish.
Those exits have seen Yusuf Maart, Dillon Solomons, George Matlou, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Siyethemba Sithebe, Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez come in, with Mduduzi Shabalala promoted to the first-team. Royal AM, who finished third last season and qualified for the CAF Confederation Cup too, have also strengthened and seen key individuals like Victor Letsoalo vacate too.
Former Chiefs striker Samir Nurkovic, Ruzaigh Gamildien, Khethukuthula Ndlovu and Andre De Jong have joined in addition to the coaching trio of Dan Malesela, Khabo Zondo and Abram Nteo. Chiefs will have revenge on their minds after losing both league fixtures against Thwihli Thwahla last season, none more the 4-1 drubbing in Johannesburg.
