Golfers of all ages will take to the course this summer to support Central Ohio individuals with Down syndrome and their families through a slate of events hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio.
DSACO’s Annual Golf Classic is scheduled for Monday, July 20, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, 8715 Muirfield Dr., Dublin, OH 43017. The event is described as one of DSACO’s signature fundraisers, bringing together golfers, sponsors, families and community partners to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
Also on Monday, July 20, DSACO will host a free Beginner Golf Clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Country Club at Muirfield Village in partnership with DSACO’s Golf Classic and Golf Galaxy. The clinic is designed to introduce children and teens with Down syndrome to golf, with no prior experience or equipment required. Siblings are also welcome to participate.
Participants will learn basic skills including grip, stance, swing and putting, while also focusing on confidence, sportsmanship and respect for the game. Clinic times are based on age: 1 to 2 p.m. for ages 3-8, 2 to 3 p.m. for ages 9-14, and 3 to 4 p.m. for ages 15 and up. DSACO is also offering its 2026 DSACO Golf Academy in partnership with First Tee – Central Ohio.
The academy runs June 3 through Aug. 12, 2026, on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with no session July 1. Sessions will be held at Blacklick Woods Metro Golf Course, 7309 E. Livingston Ave. , Reynoldsburg, OH 43068. The Golf Academy is open to golfers ages 12 and up of all skill levels, including beginners.
