A drunken driver drove his car into a coned-off work area Wednesday, critically injuring two road crew members who were painting markings at an intersection, police say.

STOW, Ohio —

Smith is accused of driving a 2014 Chevrolet Camaro west on Ohio 59 at about 12:17 a.m. Wednesday when he hit the crew members, who were painting a crosswalk and stop bar at the intersection with Hiwood Avenue. Witnesses tell police that Smith-Johnson and an unidentified female ran from the car after the crash.
