NANNING: Police said on Saturday (Feb 28) that in the border city of Fangchenggang, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, that they had seized 2.69kg of drugs with three suspects detained in a recent case.

Local police were informed on Feb. 22 that a gang would attempt to transport a large amount of drugs to Fangchenggang as they thought there were insufficient police forces during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

On the early morning of Feb. 23, the police found one suspect got out of a car and then was picked up by a motorbike after the car had gone through the expressway exit of Fangchenggang. The police then intercepted the motorbike and detained the two suspects. They seized a bag of drugs from one suspect, including heroin and crystal meth, weighing about 2.69 kg.

The police captured another suspect driving the car at a highway exit in the city of Dongxing, which borders Vietnam.
