Rare footage of Russian armored vehicles being destroyed by cluster munitions has been released on social media. The footage has been recorded by a thermal imaging aerial drone.
The short 36-second video shows what is believed to be a Ukrainian thermal vision drone scoping out Russian armored vehicles on a road. Shortly into the video, Ukrainian artillery munitions pepper the area, hitting armored vehicles and, presumably, infantry units.Around the 15-second mark, submunition from some of the cluster bombs can be seen landing across the field, with at least two explosions suggesting the bomblets released by cluster bombs hit two armored vehicles.
A russian assault towards positions of the 92nd brigade was repelled thanks to the thermal vision drones. The aftermath of this assault was published before, but this video wasn't yet made public. These bombs pose a significant threat to civilians during and after attacks. Unexploded bomblets can cause harm to innocent people and unintended targets, leading to severe injuries or even death.
