Motorists can be fined £2,500 for careless driving

Drivers have been warned that they should take extra care when operating their vehicles if they're feeling unwell, as they could risk fines or getting into an accident.

Although it may seem harmless, almost eight million motorists could in fact be running the risk of a penalty if they are found to have caused an accident as a result of sneezing, which can see drivers travelling distances with their eyes closed. Dan Gick, managing director at Scrap Car Comparison, said: "Driving while feeling ill can put you at increased risk of having an accident and landing yourself in trouble with the law, so the best advice is to stay at home if you feel any of these symptoms, or if you are taking any medication that could impact your driving ability.
