Emergency services responded to reports that a vehicle had left the road at Port Way
, Ashton-on-Ribble, at 2.55pm today . Police officers from Lancashire Police and paramedics from North West Ambulance Service were on the scene prompt.
The car was seen in the bushes close to the red boat buoy at the top of Port Way where it meets the A583 Watery Lane.The driver has been taken to hospital after being treated by ambulance crews at the scene. It is understood he experienced a medical episode behind the wheel. A spokesperson from Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 2.55pm to Port Way, Ashton-on-Ribble-Preston, to reports that a car had left the road.
"The driver, a man in his 60s, has been treated by the North West Ambulance Service and is to be taken to hospital for treatment."
