A 32-year-old driver and his passenger died early Sunday in a rollover crash off Interstate 15 in the Fallbrook area, a California Highway Patrol official said.
The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. when the driver veered to the right, off south I-15 near Mission Road, causing the vehicle — a Lexus NX 350 — to overturn, said CHP Officer Hunter Gerber. Both the driver and his passenger, a 28-year-old woman, died before they could be taken to a hospital, Gerber said. Their names were not released.Investigators had not yet determined whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, Gerber said. The investigation was ongoing.
