The driver of a Mack dump truck was killed Thursday in Bergen County when the vehicle struck a guardrail on I-287 and overturned, authorities said.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. in the southbound lanes near milepost 59.8 in Oakland, according to New Jersey State Police. The driver was identified as Ronald E. Appel, 56, of Riverdale.
