EAST PALO ALTO – A driver was killed in a solo-vehicle crash Monday night in East Palo Alto, police said.
The crash was reported at 8:04 p.m. near University Avenue and Bay Road. East Palo Alto Interim Police Chief Jeff Liu said the vehicle was traveling westbound on University at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control and crashed into a tree. The San Mateo County Coroner’s Office will release the driver’s identity once it has been confirmed and his next of kin is notified.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle, and no other injuries or deaths were reported, Liu said/
