– A driver is dead Thursday morning after authorities say they crashed their vehicle into a tree in east Houston , causing it to catch on fire.Details are limited, as it’s an active investigation, but police say the crash happened a little after 3:15 a.m. on Turning Basin off 610. That’s where the unidentified driver was heading northbound but for undisclosed reasons, officials say the driver left the roadway before hitting a tree.
Moments later, responding officers found the vehicle covered in flames, with the driver’s body still inside.
