A grand jury has indicted a New Jersey motorist in connection with a crash that killed a 17-year-old dirt bike rider last year.
Catherine L. May, 31, of Hopewell Township, was driving a car east on Landis Avenue in Deerfield Township on the morning of Dec. 23, 2020, when sheThe rider, identified as Ayden Rodriguez, died of his injuries the following day. An investigation of the crash found that May was driving recklessly, traveling “at an excessive rate of speed” and ignored a red stop light when she entered the intersection, according to court documents.
A Cumberland County grand jury indicted May last week on second-degree counts of vehicular homicide and violation of law intended to protect public health and safety.
