Emergency crews scrambled to the M90 southbound between junctions two and three, near Crossgates in Fife, after the alarm was raised at around 1.50pm on Sunday.
Ambulance crews attended and the 65-year-old male driver of the car was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy as a precaution.Another car could be seen stopped nearby while the smashed vehicle sat in the hard shoulder.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.50pm on Sunday, April 23, we were called to a report of a single vehicle crash on the M90 southbound between junctions two and three.
