One person was dead and a second individual involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident remained at large after a horrific late-night crash on northbound 680 in San Jose.
CHP Officer Garrett Ray said the 10:51 p.m. crash was triggered by a driver veering into the No. 2 lane and colliding with another vehicle.
The force of the impact left both vehicles -- a sedan and a pickup truck -- heavily damaged. Authorities said an unresponsive individual was found in one of the vehicles and declared dead at the scene.The identity of the person who died was being withheld pending notification of kin.© 2023 CBS Broadcasting Inc.
