Police stopped a man driving a stolen car. A stolen firearm was recovered as well.
On May 7 around 3 am, officers were dispatched for a report of a stolen vehicle northbound on Lear Road from Avon. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was arrested and charged two counts of receiving stolen property, OVI and driving under suspension. A stolen firearm was recovered from the vehicle. He was booked and transported to Lorain County Jail.On May 4, police responded to Avon Lake Wine shop for a drunk bicyclist.
On May 3, Avon Lake Schools’ resource officers were made aware of an incident during recess at Troy Intermediate School. Both officers responded and resolved the incident. A report was generated and forwarded to the Lorain County Juvenile Court.On May 3, police responded to a hit-skip accident at the intersection of Lear Road and Electric Blvd. While responding, officers located the suspected vehicle on Avon Belden Road and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.
