An officer on patrol at 7:37 p.m. Jan. 29 came upon a Ford Explorer that had crashed into a ditch west of Marks Road. The driver said he did not need medical attention. He reportedly admitted to drinking eight beers that night.
He first said he was on his way to his estranged wife’s house to obtain medication for his dog, then later said he was not driving to the woman’s house.The man failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He later registered nearly four times the legal limit for intoxication on a breath test. He was taken to the Brunswick Cleveland Clinic emergency room when Medina County Jail officials said they would require a medical clearance before taking the man.A Valley City woman was arrested for domestic violence at 3:14 p.m. Jan. 31 for reportedly throwing a bottle at her husband.
