Drinking coffee every day could add almost two years to your life expectancy and make your old age healthier, according to a recent review.
A new review has brought good news for coffee lovers as drinking the brew every day might be linked with living a longer and healthier life.A review of more than 50 studies on coffee, published last month in the scientific journal Ageing Research Reviews, found that drinking coffee regularly was associated with an extra 1.8 years of lifespan.But the study didn't just look at how long people lived, but how healthily, finding that coffee was linked with a longer health span too.
The review concluded that global epidemiological studies pointed to the positive impact of regular moderate coffee consumption—defined as up to three to five cups per day—on human aging, increasing lifespan and decreasing the risk of many of the age-related diseases that contribute to mortality.They found links between regular coffee consumption and a lower risk of heart disease, lung disease, stroke, some cancers, diabetes, dementia, depression and frailty.
