Montgomery, Alabama

Dream Court hosts it’s 4th annual Montgomery Open kicking off Friday April 19th through Sunday April 21st at Lagoon Park. Dream Court is a tennis organization for people of all ages that have either physical or intellectual disabilities. Dream Court was founded over a decade ago by Jessica Weyreuter and has served over 500 athletes. The organization was started in the River Region and has now expanded to Daphne, Auburn, and Huntsville.

Each year Dream Court offers practices in the spring, summer, and fall and two tournaments. One tournament is for those with physical disabilities and the other for those with intellectual disabilities. The tournament for those with physical disabilities will be held this weekend at Lagoon Park, while the tournament for those with intellectual disabilities will be held on May 4th.

“This tournament is very special because the athletes that practice with us year round get the chance to show what they have learned and also compare themselves with other people from other places and of course invite the community to come and see what the people with special needs are capable of,” say Founder and Executive Director Jessica Weyreuter.
