Draymond Green had a Knicks hot take on his latest podcast.
Draymond Green welcomed Jason Calacanis to his podcast this week to discuss the NBA playoffs, which Green is not currently participating in because his team finished the season in 10th place in the Western Conference and promptly lost to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament. Calacanis is a New York Knicks fan so Green took the opportunity to explain why his team's current run in the playoffs is a fluke.
Green brought up the '20-'21 Atlanta Hawks and the '18-'19 Portland Trail Blazers as examples of teams that experienced flukey postseason runs and never tasted success again. It's unclear what those teams have to do with the Knicks team that currently holds a 2-0 lead over the Indiana Pacers despite the fact that they're continually losing various key players to injuries, but don't worry about that. Let Draymond cook.

If anyone would know what a fluke playoff run looks like, it's Draymond Green. He saw one up close when the Warriors won the title in 2022, right in the middle of a stretch where they missed the playoffs three times in five seasons. You may recall that when the Warriors played the Grizzlies in the second round,What exactly makes the Knicks candidates to not be good again next year? Julius Randle, Bojan Boganovich and OG Anunoby might be healthy by then.
Will the Knicks become the next NBA dynasty? Probably not, but they seem to be in just as good a position as anyone else in the league right now. They've got a superstar in Jalen Brunson and some other good players and most importantly, they're still actually in the playoffs right now.
