Draymond Green certainly doesn’t think highly of Knicks fans.
During that playoff series, which marked the Knicks’ first postseason appearance since 2013, Young shined as he led the Hawks past the Knicks in five games, averaging 29.2 points and 9.8 assists in the series. Known for his theatrics and showmanship, Young constantly antagonized the Madison Square Garden crowd throughout the series, which was raucous as the team broke its playoff drought.
“F–k Trae Young” chants constantly reverberated around the arena, to which Young often met with shushing gestures or the opposite, egging them on for more. Young has long seemed to enjoy the villain role with his actions, but when asked by Green if he embraces it, Young shared a different sentiment.
Trae Yougn eggs on the Madison Square Garden crowd during Game 5 of the Hawks’ first-round series win over the Knicks on June 2, 2021.“Like you said, this s–t ain’t really fun, being a villain” Young answered. “I really just feed off of the crowd. I really don’t like being that way, but it’s been that way since high school, when I was averaging 40 [points per game] my senior year in high school…
“That’s kind of what it was. I was going to other arenas. They were chanting ‘overrated,’ it’s just what it is. But I’m not like that type of person. I’d rather just go out there, put on a show, have fun, smile and get the win.”

Knicks' Evan Fournier has no relationship with Tom Thibodeau, is ready to leave New YorkEvan Fournier is still a member of the New York Knicks, though you couldn't be blamed for not realizing that. He barely played for the Knicks after the first month of the 2022-2023 season and didn't spend a single minute of the playoffs on the court. That was a pretty big change, since Fournier had spent the last nine years as a starter (including the 2021-2022 season he spent with the Knicks).
