Recent photos shared on social media show Maye smiling as he jogged outdoors as part of the team's offseason training program. In the images, he sported a pair of blue Patriots shorts and a matching blue muscle tee, highlighting his noticeably bulkier frame. According to NFL Network insider Mike Giardi, Maye appears to have gained more than 10 pounds of muscle this offseason.
Drake was listed at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, making him one of the best dual threats in the league. One day later, during a press conference, Maye was asked if he had gotten 'thiccer with two C's' during the offseason, a question that drew laughs from reporters. The excitement surrounding the Patriots' Super Bowl run was palpable, especially for Maye's wife, Ann Michael Maye.
After the team secured their spot in the big game, Ann Michael took to Instagram on Monday, January 26, to share her joy.
'WE ARE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!! ❤️💙❤️💙' she wrote alongside photos of the couple celebrating on the field.
However, not everyone interpreted Drake's reaction as enthusiastic. Following the AFC Championship victory on January 25, the NFL shared a video of Drake and Ann Michael on the field. Some fans argued that Drake did not seem too thrilled when his wife joined him for the celebration. The clip showed Drake with a subdued expression, leading to speculation about his demeanor.
Nevertheless, the couple appeared united in their support for each other. Beyond the gridiron, the Mayes have been involved in charitable work. After the Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl 60, Drake underwent a physical change for a good cause. He volunteered to have his head shaved to raise money for Boston Children's Hospital.
The fundraiser, which benefited pediatric cancer research, ultimately received $4.1 million. This included $5,000 donated for every person who shaved their head or donated at least eight inches of hair. In an April video, Ann Michael expressed her support, saying, 'I think he's going to look good. He'll look good.
I've never seen it before. So this is going to be a shock.
' Drake also shared his thoughts, stating, 'Dealing with kids, dealing with children-that's one of the best things. They're most likely or oftentimes the biggest fans of us players. And I think it's just, it's such a cool experience to be able to shine positive light and to be there for them and to help in any way we can.
' The couple's dedication to community service has endeared them to Patriots fans, even as the team prepares for another run at the championship
