‘Dragon Storm’ arrives in Bay Area, triggering North Bay flood advisories
Brayden Murdock, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, said the agency is monitoring conditions in Alameda, Contra Costa and San Mateo counties for potential flood advisories.
Rain totals had already eclipsed 2 inches in higher elevations in the North Bay, Murdock said, adding the Santa Cruz Mountains and Big Sur coast could see as over 5 inches by the end of the day. Lower elevations in the Bay Area could see around an inch of rainfall, he said. In the East Bay hills, powerful wind gusts topped 80 mph Saturday morning. At the San Francisco International Airport, gusts reached over 40 mph.
