is a Japanese anime adaptation of the manga series of the same name. Created by Akira Toriyama, the series revolves around Goku, an orphan youngling who is adopted by a fighting master called Gohan. He accepts Goku as his own, raises him, and trains him in martial arts until the day he dies. Goku goes on living by himself until he is visited by Bulma, who is on a mission of her own.
The Toriyama creation is widely considered to be one of the best manga adaptations out there, partly due to the talented voice cast involved. Masako Nozawa shines as Son Goku, with Hiromi Tsuru and Kohei Miyauchi lending their voices to the characters of Bulma and Muten Roshi, respectively. The supporting cast also features Mayumi Tanaka, Toru Furuya, Naoki Tatsuta, Takeshi Aono, Naoko Watanabe, and Shigeru Chiba, among others.
