PETALING JAYA: The renewal of public service vehicles and commercial vehicle operators’ licences have been extended between three and five years, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Transport Minister said upon reviewing the difficulties that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused for the transport industry, he had instructed the relevant agencies under the ministry to review various policies to help industry players.
However, all operators for public service vehicles and commercial vehicles are eligible for the five-year approval if they fulfil all the necessary conditions. If any of the listed criteria are not met, the Transport Minister said that only a three-year approval will be granted, compared with the previous approval where the validity period of an operator’s licence was only granted with a minimum period of one year.
