PETALING JAYA: All polling stations for the Pelangai by-elections have closed at 6pm on Saturday (Oct 7) and the vote-counting process begins.
PETALING JAYA: MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong says Datuk Amizar Abu Adam is the best person to represent Pelangai while congratulating Barisan Nasional's victory in the Pahang state seat."I am confident of Amizar's ability to work for the people and convey the voices of locals to the Pahang state assembly," he said
Dr Wee also expressed his gratitude towards the Barisan machinery for their efforts to ensure the coalition's victory and Election Commission staff members for organising the election. "Congratulations to Pahang MCA chairman Datuk Seri Hoh Khai Min and Bentong MCA division chairman Datuk Kang Meng Fuat for their hard work in leading MCA's machinery to the coalition's victory!"
According to the unofficial count, Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Amizar Abu Adam got 7,324 votes as of 8.15pm on Saturday .There were more than 16,383 eligible voters, and as of 5pm on Saturday, 71% or 11,631 had cast their votes.
