Dr Mahathir should not pre-empt Agong, says Pakatan

INTERIM prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad should not pre-empt the king by announcing a special Parliament sitting to select a prime minister, the Pakatan Harapan presidential council said tonight. The council said in a statement the power to appoint a prime minister lies with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, as provided for in Article 40 of the federal constitution.
