Dr Mahathir Mohamad resigned as PPBM’s chairman at the height of the political crisis last month, but his status remains unclear.

PETALING JAYA: Dr Mahathir Mohamad has announced his candidacy for the PPBM chairman in the upcoming party elections. “I am Dr Mahathir, PPBM member no. 1 and founder of the party. I offer myself to contest the chairman’s post to save PPBM some of the party’s leaders are working with kleptocrats and Umno to form a backdoor government.PPBM is split between those who remained with Mahathir, and those who joined its president Muhyiddin Yassin to form the new Perikatan Nasional coalition government with Umno, GPS and PAS.
