Derry Township police charged a 20-year-old driver who crashed into a tree injuring himself and four passengers after falling asleep behind the wheel of his SUV.along the westbound lanes of West Chocolate Avenue in front of Hershey’s Technical Center and across the street from the Hershey Lodge.
After a two-month investigation, police say they believe Spangler knew he was fatigued and drove his vehicle that morning anyway. Police charged Spangler with a first-degree misdemeanor, endangering the welfare of children, after they say he allowed a 14-year-old to sit on the center console between the front seats without a seat belt.
