Police say this man, holding a big stick with a metal screw protruding from it, attacked a woman by hitting her in the face with it. Seattle police say an elderly woman survived a horrifying and vicious attack in downtown Seattle Friday.
They say a man struck her in the face with a big wooden stick that had a metal screw sticking out of the end of it.They say he has a history of violence. Just before noon, police say the man walked up from behind the 75-year-old victim, as she waited for the light to turn at a crosswalk at 3That’s when it’s believed he swung the stick like a baseball bat and landed a blow on the woman’s face.Several bystanders tried to help her.Police say several witnesses reported seeing the man swinging the stick moments before the attack.An ambulance transported her to Harborview Medical Center, where doctors performed emergency surgery. As police began to investigate and search for the suspect, an analyst in the police department’s Real Time Crime Center spotted the man on camera and informed officers where to find him.
