Downtown Huntsville is losing 'a little hidden gem' at the end of the month when Korean fusion restaurant Big Oh's closes.

The whole place kind of smiled. That warmth stemmed from Arnold, who’s so upbeat and friendly. Initially, she focused on customer service, taking orders, management and the business side. Then, about two years ago, Arnold’s brother and sister-in-law decided to move to Atlanta because of the bigger Korean community there, she says.
The number of employees eventually shrank from 15 to six or so. And due to staffing issues a few months ago, the restaurant discontinued lunch service. It got to the point where Arnold would hope Big Oh’s wouldn’t be too busy. They no longer had the manpower to properly deal with a big rush. Eric Pavlik has worked at Big Oh’s for around 15 months. As a cook and kitchen manager, he’s taken pride in their menu. His go-to’s include the short ribs, spicy ramen with pork and summer special “cold noodles.”
Larsson will miss the camaraderie at Big Oh’s. “I’m friends with all my coworkers,” she says. And the tone Arnold set there. “She’s got such a positive outlook,” Larsson says. Helming a firm his grandfather started and his son will soon join, Martinson knows what goes into a family business. “I’ll miss Yeon and the people that work there. They’re all so nice,” he says.
