Sundowns welcomed back Mothobi Mvala, Khuliso Mudau, Aubrey Modiba, Teboho Mokoena, Neo Maema, Themba Zwane and Peter Shalulile from the win over Richards Bay FC on Tuesday.
The visitors continued to show courage and hit the front right in the midway stage when Sofiane Bouchar leaped on the end of a curling ball following a corner-kick and headed in. Sundowns maintained courage and clawed level on the brink of halftime when Zwane played a quick one-two with Thapelo Morena outside the area and fired in the reverse pass.
Sundowns looked to slow down the tempo of the game on 68 minutes as Sphelele Mkhulise replaced Sipho Mbule and they were more dominant on the ball as Aubrey Modiba nearly made it 3-1 with a rocket from range that flashed slightly over the crossbar.
