Denver trio Down Time (downtimeforever) share title track of their TennisInc-produced debut album 'Hurts Being Alive':
Denver trio Down Time have shared a new single, “Hurts Being Alive,” from their Tennis-produced debut album of the same name, out on March 6., and was recorded by Tennis members and fellow Denver musicians Patrick Riley and Alaina Moore back in June 2019.
“Hurts Being Alive” lives in a vortex of perky guitar and entrancing keys, and sits at the crossroads of retro folk-pop, indie rock and psych-funk. Against a backdrop of funky rhythms, understated piano and a ruminative flute solo, Alyssa Maunders’ vocals flutter in the wind. With an elemental, caressing touch, her voice glides as she sings, “How hard must I try / Hurts being alive / Most of the time.
