Dothan’s Thomas Ponder had a successful first experience in the PGA Tour Americas event this week, earning a top 10 finish at the Beachlands Victoria Open in western Canada’s Victoria, B.C.
Americans Clay Feagler and Samuel Anderson placed third and fourth, while Americans John Keefer and John Marshall Butler tied for fifth at 17-under. Ponder tied with Chris Francoeur, another American, in seventh. Ponder opened this week’s tournament with a 6-under par 64 on Thursday, finishing tied with seven others in fourth place before surging into a three-way share of the lead behind a 7-under 63 on Friday.
