JON JOHNSON Dothan’s Bauer Sharp confirmed to the Dothan Eagle on Sunday he has entered the transfer portal after one season on the Oklahoma football team but prefers to withhold any comments concerning the decision at this time.
Sharp, the former Dothan High standout who transferred to Oklahoma this year after three years at Southeastern Louisiana on the FCS level, was the Sooners leading receiver at tight end with 42 catches for 324 yards and two touchdowns – leading the team in both catches and reception yardage.
People are also reading… Earlier this week, Venables hired Ben Arbuckle as the Sooners’ new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach after serving the last two seasons in the same capacity at Washington State University. Before arriving at Oklahoma, Sharp signed with Southeastern as a quarterback but made the transition to tight end after his redshirt season. During the 2023 season, Sharp was named first team All-Southland Conference after catching 20 passes for 288 yards with three touchdowns and also rushing for a team-high five touchdowns from the wildcat position. He was also named FCS Football Central third team All-American.
