A Dothan man faces an assault charge after police say he shot a North Bell Street resident early Wednesday.
Kenneth Ray Craddock, 45, is charged with first-degree assault, and is being held in the Houston County Jail with a $30,000 bond. Police officers responded to a report of a man with a gunshot wound in the 300 block of North Bell Street at about 8 a.m. Wednesday. Upon entering the residence, officers provided first aid to the victim while awaiting EMTs.
Witnesses said an argument preceded the shooting, after which Craddock left with the firearm, returning without it as officers were securing the scene. Craddock admitted he was the shooter and was detained.Bill Perkins is editorial page editor of the Dothan Eagle and can be reached at [email protected] or 334-712-7901.
