The Civic Center hopes the move will ensure a smoother, more streamlined event experience for all attendees.
DOTHAN , Ala. - The Dothan Civic Center will transition to a cash-free environment for all events beginning June 1.
“The shift to a cash-free operation reflects the Civic Center’s commitment to providing a more efficient and secure environment for guests and staff alike,” the City of Dothan said in a statement on Monday. Starting June 1, all transactions at the Dothan Civic Center will need to be made using major credit and debit cards, or mobile payment services like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
“Moving to a cash-free system allows us to process transactions much quicker, reducing the time our guests spend in line and giving them more time to enjoy the entertainment they came to see,” said Clay Dempsey, the Director of the Dothan Civic Center, “This change also enhances our security measures by minimizing the risks associated with handling cash.”
“We understand that this is a significant change for our visitors, and we are committed to making this transition as seamless as possible,” Dempsey said. “Our staff will be on hand during events to assist guests with the new process.”and receive the latest local news and weather straight to your email every morning.
