The latest story expansion for DOOM: The Dark Ages, Revelations, offers a brutal new storyline that thrusts the Slayer into a purgatory of his own making. The DLC includes several new enemies and mechanics, and will be available as an individual purchase or as part of the premium edition upgrade for DOOM: The Dark Ages.
Revealed as a part of the Summer Game Fest, DOOM: The Dark Ages was one of the many surprise guests at this year's Xbox Game Showcase, which is offering an exciting new story expansion that follows the events of the game's finale.
Having been battered and betrayed by the ones he was fighting for in the first place, Revelations boasts a brutal new storyline that thrusts the Slayer into a purgatory of his own making. Offering plenty of the same adrenaline-pumping combat and puzzle-based combat encounters we've come to expect from the series, DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelations also includes several new enemies and mechanics for you to look forward to when it releases later this summer.
DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelation DLC Release Date & Price Compared to many of the other games announced during the Summer Game Fest that we'll be waiting quite a long time to get our hands on, Doom: The Dark Ages' Revelation DLC is arriving only a month after its initial reveal trailer, which is currently scheduled to launch on July 7, 2026. Although the Revelations story DLC won't be adding anything as game-changing as new multiplayer functionality to Doom: The Dark Ages, it does also arrive alongside the Riptorium 3.0 update, which is offering deeper character customization and additional preset options for the in-game arena challenge mode entirely for free, regardless of which edition of the game you own.
Owners of DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations also gain three new additional maps, demons, and fully upgraded new weapons to use in the Ripatorium upon completing the story. Releasing as an add-on for Doom: The Dark Ages itself, Revelations will be available both as an individual purchase for $19.99 USD and included in the currently available premium edition upgrade for $34.99, which also includes the Divinity skin pack, a digital art book, and the digital soundtrack for the base game.
DOOM: The Dark Ages - Revelation DLC Gameplay & Story Details While the first thing you'll notice about the trailer for Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations, posted to the official Xbox YouTube account, is the fact that the new layer of hell that the Slayer finds himself thrust into seems to have frozen over, there are also several new enemies and gameplay mechanics to help liven up the traditional gameplay loop.
Having lost the armor and weaponry you've come to rely on in The Dark Ages, the Slayer will get access to a brand-new weapon in the form of a demonic spear, which can be used to parry attacks, launch projectiles, slam into enemies from above, alongside plenty of other abilities that can be combined with other attacks like the Shield Saw for deadly combat efficiency.
Not only helping to fill in the timeline gaps between the original series and the 2016 reboot, Revelations also offers new enemies to face, and some unlikely allies found in the depths of hell as you travel through the frozen hellish wastelands, face off against several new elite enemies, and even unravel the Slayer's haunted past back on Earth through playable story segments when Doom: The Dark Ages - Revelations releases in the next few weeks.
