A new Doom game, Ghostwire: Tokyo 2, and a secret new licensed title were all planned at Bethesda before Microsoft bought them.
3 from 2008 – even if most people would probably rather see Obsidian’s Fallout: New Vegas get the treatment first.
According to the leaked ‘management forecast’ the Oblivion remaster was originally due out already, sometime before April this year, while the Fallout 3 remaster was planned for the 2024 fiscal year, i.e. sometime before April 2024., which is very hard to imagine given how the original performed and how much better received Tango Gameworks’ Hi-Fi Rush was.
Talk of a Dishonored 3 in 2024 also seems unlikely, since nothing has been heard of it so far, but given the failure of Redfall it’s perhaps possible that developer Arkane is now planning to go back to its roots, with its most acclaimed series. On the other hand, it’s easy to imagine that id Software is planning a new Doom game, and it’s only a surprise it hasn’t been announced yet, with the forecast indicating it was supposed to be out this year.
It refers to it as Doom Year Zero, which makes it sound like a prequel, and there were apparently plans for two sets of DLC – one this year and one next.that MachineGames is known to be working on and which we still haven’t seen anything on – even though it was originally supposed to be out last year.
