Mitchell, who was born in Elmsford, N.Y., averaged 26.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game this season, and had hit his playoff stride before succumbing to a calf injury which kept him on the sidelines for Game 5 against the Celtics. Boston dispatched the Cavs with a gentlemen’s sweep and opens Mitchell up to trade speculation as his season ends.
A five-time NBA All-Star and the NBA Slam Dunk champion in 2018, Mitchell was drafted by the Denver Nuggets with the 13th pick in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft before being dealt to the Utah Jazz for Tyler Lydon — the 24th pick — and Trey Lyles.
