Dondol know they may have squad raided after cup run ended by Pirates

Many of ABC Motsepe League team Dondol's players have caught the attention of bigger clubs in their heroic cup run.

“An example is Lesedi Kapinga of Mamelodi Sundowns — he is a Dondol Stars product. Senzo Nkwanyana of Sekhukhune United, I think he is on loan at the moment [the midfielder transferred to All Stars FC], is also a product of Dondol and there are a few other players too.

“The chair [Lordwick Makhura] believes so much in developing, creating chances and giving people a better life in football. That is one thing we never worry about. “I think this tournament is mainly for that [showcasing players]. If you play against SuperSport United and beat them and you go the extra mile with AmaZulu, obviously one, two or three players will be scouted and that is what we want.

“As a coach, if 'Spha' [Gumede], Sambo or whoever gets a good contract elsewhere, I'll be happy because I would have done my job. I would have developed a player for a bigger team or even for Bafana Bafana.”
