Donald Trump has declared he will surrender to authorities for arrest following his indictment after being accused of attempting to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
The former United States president wrote on Truth Social on Monday night confirming his intention to turn himself in on Thursday, one day before the deadline set by Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis for all 19 defendants in the case.
District Attorney Willis opened the initial investigation based off a phone call Mr Trump made in 2021 to a co-Republican party member and Georgia’s secretary of state Brad Raffensperger wherein the ex-president urges him to make a false public declaration about the state’s election results. “All I want to do is this: I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state."
“She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!”
