Elon Musk restores Donald Trump's access to his account - but the former president has not posted since August 2023Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has returned to X, formerly known as Twitter, hours before a live interview with the platform’s billionaire owner,is scheduled to sit down with Mr Musk, who endorsed him and running-mate JD Vance in July, at 8pm ET .
Trump’s access to his account, @realDonaldTrump, was restored a month into Mr Musk’s ownership of X in 2022, after he wasThe 78-year-old frequently posts on his Truth Social platform, which was launched in February 2022 but reaches a much smaller audience than on X. Mr Musk, the world’s richest person, backed Democratic President Joe Biden in 2020 but has since moved towards the right, going on to endorse Trump following July’s assassination attempt.The 53-year-old, who heads electric car company Tesla, also started an external super PAC spending group to support Trump’s campaign.
