Budensiek said Woods and the driver of the other vehicle were not injured. Woods was able to crawl out through the passenger side of his vehicle. The crash occurred just after 2 p.m. near where Woods lives on Jupiter Island. Budensiek said Woods attempted to pass a pressure‑cleaning truck on a two‑lane road and swerved to avoid a collision, but clipped the rear of the truck’s trailer. Woods’ vehicle then rolled onto its driver’s side. Investigators at the scene determined Woods was showing signs of impairment, Budensiek said. Woods took a breath test that was negative for alcohol, but refused to submit to a urine test. He was charged with driving under the influence with property damage and refusal to submit to a lawful test, both misdemeanors, the sheriff said.Woods has been involved in a car crash. Most recently, in February 2021, his SUV ran off a coastal road in Los Angeles at a high rate of speed, causing severe injuries to his right leg and ankle. Woods later said doctors at the time considered amputating his leg. Since that crash, Woods has played in 11 tournaments, completing all 72 holes four times and never finishing closer than 16 shots behind the winner.Woods was also arrested on a DUI charge in 2017 after South Florida police found him asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle that was parked awkwardly and had damage to the driver’s side.
