Donald Trump slammed the New York attorney general's office for having no 'smoking gun' evidence in the $250 million fraud lawsuit against him.Prosecutors wrapped up their arguments Wednesday after Attorney General Letitia James and her team called 25 witnesses to testify in their civil case, which accuses Trump, his two eldest sons and other members of the Trump Organization of repeatedly inflating their company's assets for financial and tax benefits.
James' office also brought in Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer, who previously pleaded guilty to tax crimes and campaign violations in connection with hush payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 presidential election. In another case, the former president is facing criminal charges brought by the Manhattan district attorney's office for falsifying business records in the hush money scheme.
