The former president's eldest son called out Biden for a prisoner exchange involving WNBA player Brittney Griner.
Biden posted a picture on Thursday morning of himself with Cherelle Griner, the wife of the WNBA star. He wrote,"Moments ago I spoke to Brittney Griner. She is safe. She is on a plane. She is on her way home."
Griner has been in custody in Russia for 10 months after she was arrested for possession of vape cartridges that contained cannabis oil at a Moscow airport in February. In August, a Russian court found her guilty of drug smuggling with criminal intent by a Russian court on Thursday. She was sentenced to nine years in prison and fined 1 million rubles.

, a former U.S. Marine who is being held in Russia, was not part of the deal that resulted in Griner's release despite the Biden administration's efforts to make him part of the exchange."You guys know how to make sure [Russian President Vladimir] Putin keeps arresting Americans and severely punishing them?" Trump wrote.
He continued,"Great trade! Our government's weakness and stupidity will only encourage the abuse of American citizens abroad."
