Donald Trump Jr. is launching a news aggregation app, and Alabama’s Cliff Sims is on the team.
According to Axios, the app, known as MxM News , is designed to compete against Apple News and Google News. The app will feature curated content from specific publishers but not create content or hire journalists to produce original stories.
Trump Jr. and Taylor Budowich, former spokesperson for President Trump, are the founders. Birmingham-based Telegraph Creative, whose CEO is Sims, is an equity partner in the company. Telegraph designed and developed the mobile app and the company’s involvement was confirmed toSims worked on the Trump campaign, then joined the White House in 2017 as assistant to the president and assistant communications director for White House message strategy.
