BREAKING: Donald Trump is angry at China for failing to share coronavirus genetic sequence
Donald Trump’s new press secretary Kayleigh McEnany voiced the president’s ‘displeasure’ with China for failing to share the genetic sequence for Covid-19 ’s new press secretary has blasted the Chinese government for dragging its heels with sharing the genetic sequence of Covid-19. Speaking at the first White House press briefing in 100 days, Kayleigh McEnany said: ‘I will echo the president’s displeasure with China.
‘They did not share the genetic sequence until a professor in Shanghai did so on his own. The very next day China shut down his lab for quote rectification. They slow walked information on human to human transmission alongside the world health organization and didn’t let us investigators in at a very important time.
‘We take displeasure with China’s actions, but I won’t get ahead of the president with those actions.’McEnany was referring to China’s communist government shuttering the Shanghai Public Health Clinical Centre on January 12, a day after Professor Zhang Yongzhen’s team published the genome sequence on open platforms. Further details on that ‘rectification’ were not given.
