The episode, though a departure from the main ‘Sandman’ storyline, is certainly not to be missed.
There was one question on everyone's lips when Netflix announced that they would be the company that broughtto life on the small screen: What about the cat issue??? The third volume of Sandman tales,, is something of a fairytale storybook, comprising four issues independent of the main story that each give a further taste of the raw power of dreams.
"A Dream of a Thousand Cats," the second tale, is one of the most beloved by fans. It spins a delightfully creepy story of warped reality through the eyes of the world's household felines and their relationships to their human companions. Netflix's adaptation was not about to let the opportunity go to waste.
Grieving the loss of her kittens, she falls asleep one night and enters Dream's kingdom, where, eventually, she stumbles upon Morpheus in the shape of an enormous, beautiful black fluffy cat. He tells her a secret: long ago, humans and cats were reversed, with cats the large, dominant creatures on the planet and humans their tiny dumb servants. But when the humans marshaled themselves together to escape, the world irreversibly changed.
